About us

The director

The director, Lucy Mallorie, is a qualified teacher and assessor. She gained her Post Graduate Certificate of Education at Manchester Metropolitan University, Advanced Diploma in Special Needs in Education from the Open University, her Certificate of Competence in Educational Testing and Access Arrangement Certificate from Dyslexia Action. She has had a great deal of experience teaching children with learning difficulties on a class, small group and one to one basis. Her experience lead her into wanting to assess the individual needs of the children that she teaches and others in much greater detail. After qualifying as an assessor she realised that there was a growing need for an affordable and reasonable priced means of assessment in Cheshire which was a little more parent- friendly, and so Bright Star was born!

Bright Star began in Cheshire but it is now nationwide. More recently Bright Star have developed a Workplace Consultancy. This means that we will enter the workplace to assess, support and provide training to dyslexic employees and their employers.
